The Amstel brewery was founded on 11th June 1870 nearby to Amsterdam’s Amstel River. Within only two years the brewery was producing an annual 10,000 hectolitres! The beer was being stored along with winter ice from the canals.

The export of Amstel beer started in 1883, beginning with the export to Great Britain and the Dutch East Indies. Later expanding by building breweries in other areas of the world. In 1968 – almost 100 years after the foundation of the original Amstel brewery – the company was bought out by Heineken International. This was their biggest competitor at the time. To this day the brewery is sold under the same wing as drinks such as Desperados, Strongbow and Foster’s.

Using this dispensing method has allowed our clients across the country to enjoy their kegs of Amstel no matter which situation they happen to be in – whether that be camping, at university or just a small get-together at home. The innovative design of the Party Pump means that it is perfect for practically any situation regardless of whether you have access to basic resources such as electricity and a surface on which to clamp a full tapping system.
